The ECPE Network Meeting offers a networking platform for exchange and discussion of trends and future topics in the ECPE community of Member companies and Competence Centres. This year's meeting will focus on "Trends in Power Electronics and in the ECPE Network".

The morning session will deal with power electronics and smart industrial manufacturing (Industry 4.0). An introduction and overview on Industry 4.0 (I 4.0) will be given which describes the application of IoT (Internet of Things) to industrial manufacturing. In the network meeting we will discuss the relation of I 4.0 and power electronics in both directions: the role of I 4.0 in the production of power electronics components and converters on the one side, and the possible contributions of power electronics to I 4.0 on the other side with the key words smart inverter, big data, condition monitoring and system integration with sensors and actuators.

In the afternoon sessions the focus will be on information and knowledge management in the ECPE Network. In ECPE we generate a large amount of information e.g. in the joint research programme or in the workshops and tutorials. The key challenge for the members is how to get the necessary information to the right place within their organisation in an efficient way. Techniques and tools will be presented and discussed as well as best practice examples. Furthermore, we will discuss the future of industrial training with a benchmark of on-site training against web-based solutions. Future steps of eLearning in power electronics beyond the existing ECPE Online Course will be discussed.
