Tomoyuki Miyoshi received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Tohoku University, Miyagi, Japan, in 2005, 2007, and 2015. In 2007, he joined Hitachi, Ltd., Japan. He is currently engaged in research and development of power device technologies. The title of his Paper is 'Dual Side-Gate HiGT Breaking Through the Limitation of IGBT Loss Reduction'.

The winner of the Young Engineers Award 2016 sponsored by ECPE is Christian Felgemacher, University of Kassel, Germany.
Christian Felgemacher received the M.Eng. (Hons.) degree in electronics and electrical engineering with management from the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK in 2011. He joined the Centre of Competence for Distributed Electric Power Technology at the University of Kassel in 2012. The title of his Paper is 'Benefits of Increased Cosmic Radiation Robustness of SiC Semiconductors in large Power-Converters'.

The winner of the Young Engineers Award 2015 sponsored by ECPE is André Schön.
André Schön received his diploma degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2011. In 2012 he joined the Department of Mechatronics at the University of Bayreuth and is currently working towards his PhD. The title of his Paper is 'Comparison of the most efficient DC-DC Converters for Power Conversion in HVDC Grids'.

The winner of the Young Engineers Award 2014 sponsored by ECPE is Vinoth Kumar Sundaramoorthy.
Dr. Sundaramoorthy is working as a Scientist at Corporate Research Center of ABB Switzerland Ltd, Switzerland since August 2008. The title of his Paper is 'Simultaneous Online Estimation of Junction Temperature and Current of IGBTs Using Emitter-Auxiliary Emitter Parasitic Inductance'.

The winner of the Young Engineers Award 2013 sponsored by ECPE is Samuel Araújo, University of Kassel, Germany. The title of his Paper is 'High Switching Speeds and Loss Reduction: Prospects with Si, SiC and GaN and Limitations at Device, Packing and Application Level'.

The winner of the Young Engineers Award 2012 sponsored by ECPE is Marek Siatkowski, University Bremen, Germany.
His Paper is about the 'Construction of a High Force Density Linear Motor with a Passive Stator using Transverse Flux Technology'.

The winner of the Young Engineers Award 2011 sponsored by ECPE is Hitoshi Uemura. He received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in applied Electrical Engineering from University of Nagasaki in 2003 and 2005. In 2005, he joined the Power Device Works of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, where he works on the High Voltage design & development Department. His Paper is about the 'Optimized Design Against Cosmic Ray Failure for HVIGBT Modules'.

The winner of the Young Engineers Award 2010 sponsored by ECPE is Dayana El Hage, EPFL, Switzerland.
Finished studies in electrical engineering in Lebanon (Ecole supérieure d'ingénieurs de Beyrouth) in 2007 and did Master degree in Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Electricity and Electronics (power conversion and systems). Finished in february 2009 and continued working in EPFL in the Industrial Electronics Laboratory (LEI). The title of her Paper is 'A high current pulse-power supply for flash lamps in PV-panel measurement-facilities'.

The winner of the Young Engineers Award 2009 sponsored by ECPE is Michael Heeb, University of Kassel, Germany.
His Paper is about the 'Carrier Transit Time Approximation for Prediction of PETT Oscillation in Power Diodes'.
