This applet allows the calculation of the average and rms current values of all the components in the boost PFC. The user is able to change the input values to those of their own choice. The applet automatically recalculates the current values based on these new inputs. These values can in be used in deciding on the semiconductor parts to use and for the initial calculation of losses.

• Change the input circuit values (those in the colour red) by clicking on the value to be changed and entering the new value into the applet window created.
• Click on the check boxes ‘iC (t)’ and ‘iC,100Hz (t)’ to view the shaded areas of the instantaneous and low frequency (100Hz) capacitor current waveforms.
• View the duty cycle ‘d’ and average switch current ‘iT,avg’ over one half mains cycle.
